Performance-support infill for artificial grass systems

Natural Blend Pro is the turf infill we supply to support the surfaces we sell. Brushed into artificial grass after it’s laid, it helps stabilize the blades and supports cushioning, drainage, and overall surface resilience — across pet turf, residential lawns, sports and play areas, commercial landscapes, and contractor installs.

Why Turf Infill Matters

Infill is a small part of the order that does a lot of the work in a finished turf surface. It settles between the blades and works with the backing and base to keep the surface performing the way it should. Without the right infill — or enough of it — turf can look flat, feel less stable underfoot, and drain less predictably. Natural Blend Pro is designed to support that whole system rather than any single part of it.

Blade Stability & Resilience

Helps keep turf fibers upright and supports a fuller, more resilient surface over time and foot traffic.

Drainage & Cushioning

Aids drainage through the turf system and adds a measure of cushioning underfoot when paired with proper base prep.

Suited To Pets & High Traffic

A common choice for pet turf, residential lawns, and high-traffic areas where stability and drainage matter most.

Where Natural Blend Pro Works

Pet turf, residential lawns, sports and play areas, and contractor installs.

Pet turf

Supports drainage and surface stability in areas used by dogs (infill selection can also factor into odor management; we’ll help you plan it).

Residential lawns

Helps lawns keep a full, resilient look under everyday use.

Sports & play areas

Supports cushioning and stability for active surfaces.

Commercial landscapes

A consistent infill for larger or higher-traffic installs.

Contractor installs

A dependable infill to spec across multiple projects, available for pickup or delivery in Arizona and Utah.

Types Of Turf Infill

Not all infill is the same. The right one depends on how the turf is used — a family lawn, a dog run, and a sports surface each call for a different material. Here are the common types and where each one fits.

Silica Sand

The most common, budget-friendly option. Rounded silica sand adds weight, keeps blades upright, and stabilizes the surface — the dependable default for most landscape lawns.

Coated / Antimicrobial Sand

A premium sand, often acrylic-coated, that resists compaction and helps manage bacteria and odor. A step up for high-traffic areas and yards that see pets.

Zeolite

A natural mineral that absorbs and neutralizes the ammonia in pet urine, which is why it’s the go-to for dog areas. We supply it as PetFill Pro.

Crumb Rubber

Used mainly in sports fields and playgrounds for shock absorption and cushioning underfoot, rather than everyday landscape lawns.

Our Natural Blend Pro is the landscape infill we supply for everyday lawns and high-traffic yards; for heavy pet use we point you to PetFill Pro zeolite. Tell us your turf and how the space is used and we’ll match the type and the amount.

How Much Turf Infill Do I Need?

Infill amounts depend on the turf product and how the area is used — denser turf generally takes more infill. As a planning starting point, here are the recommended application rates for our turf lineup:

Turf product Recommended infill rate
Lush 70 ~1.0 lb per sq ft
Lush 80 ~1.6 lb per sq ft
Lucky 77 ~1.6 lb per sq ft
Lush Primo ~2.0 lb per sq ft

Infill ships in 50 lb bags. To estimate how many bags your project needs, run your square footage and product through our calculator — it factors infill alongside turf and base materials so you can plan a complete order.

Turf Infill FAQs

What is turf infill?

Turf infill is the granular material brushed into artificial grass after it’s installed. It settles between the blades and helps stabilize them while supporting cushioning, drainage, and overall surface resilience.

Do I need infill for my artificial turf?

Most artificial turf installs use infill. It helps the surface stay stable, drain properly, and keep a fuller look over time. The right type and amount depend on the turf product and how the area is used, and we’re glad to recommend a setup for your project.

What are the different types of turf infill?

The common options are silica sand (an affordable, popular choice that adds weight and stability), coated or antimicrobial sand (a premium sand that resists compaction and helps manage bacteria and odor), zeolite (a natural mineral that absorbs and neutralizes pet-urine ammonia, which is why it’s popular for dog areas), and crumb rubber (used mainly in sports and playground turf for shock absorption). Our Natural Blend Pro is a landscape infill for everyday lawns; for heavy pet use we point you to PetFill Pro zeolite.

What is the best infill for artificial turf?

It depends on how the area is used. For most residential and landscape lawns, a quality sand-based infill like Natural Blend Pro is the dependable default. For dogs and pet runs, zeolite (PetFill Pro) helps control odor. For sports and playgrounds, a heavier or shock-absorbing infill is used. Tell us your product and use and we’ll match the type and amount.
