Turf Seam Tape

Seaming fabric for strong, invisible artificial grass joins

Turf seam tape is the seaming fabric that joins two rolls of artificial grass into one continuous lawn. Laid under the seam and paired with turf glue (or self-adhesive), it creates a strong, hidden join. Self-adhesive and glue-on options, for pickup or delivery across Arizona and Utah.

Why Seam Tape Matters

A lawn is only as good as its seams. The right seaming fabric — bonded correctly — is the difference between an invisible join and a visible line that lifts over time. We supply seam tape built for artificial grass and help you pair it with the right adhesive.

Strong, Durable Seams

A tough seaming fabric that holds turf edges together through traffic, weather, and time.

Invisible, Pro-Looking Joins

Done right with glue, seam tape lets two rolls read as one continuous lawn — no visible line.

Works As A System With Glue

Seam tape is the base layer; turf glue bonds the turf edges to it. Together they make a permanent seam.

Tape + Glue: How Seaming Works

Seam tape and turf glue work as a system to turn two rolls into one continuous lawn — no visible line.

  • Tape is the base layer that bridges the joint under the seam
  • Glue bonds the turf edges down onto the tape for a permanent hold
  • Plan about one linear foot of tape per linear foot of seam
  • Brush the fibers after curing and the join disappears

How To Use Turf Seam Tape

  1. 1

    Position the tape

Center the seam tape under the joint where the two turf edges will meet, fabric side up (or peel backing for self-adhesive).

  2. 2

    Secure it

Hold the tape in place so it stays centered and flat along the full length of the seam.

  3. 3

    Apply turf glue

For glue-on tape, run an even bead of artificial turf glue along the tape per the product directions.

  4. 4

    Press the turf edges down

Fold both turf edges into the adhesive and butt them together for a tight, hidden seam.

  5. 5

    Weight, cure, and brush

Weight the seam while it sets, let it cure, then brush the fibers to blend the join.

Turf Seam Tape FAQs

What is turf seam tape and how does it work?

Turf seam tape is a seaming fabric laid under the joint where two pieces of artificial grass meet. The turf edges are bonded to the tape (with glue, or via a self-adhesive backing) so the rolls join into one continuous, hidden seam.

Self-adhesive vs glue-on seam tape — which do I need?

Self-adhesive tape has its own backing and is convenient for smaller jobs and repairs. Glue-on tape is used with artificial turf glue and is common on larger or higher-traffic installs. Tell us your project and we’ll point you to the right one.

How much seam tape do I need?

As a planning rule, figure roughly one linear foot of seam tape per linear foot of seam you need to join. Measure your seam runs and we’ll help you order enough.

Do I need both seam tape and glue?

For a glue-on seam, yes — the tape is the base and the glue bonds the turf edges to it. Self-adhesive tape can join lighter seams on its own. We can match the tape and adhesive for your install.

See artificial turf glue
Will the seam be visible?

Done correctly — tape centered, edges butted tightly, fibers brushed — a seam should be very hard to see. Good prep and not over-applying glue at the surface are the keys to an invisible join.

Is turf seam tape waterproof and for outdoor use?

The seam tape we supply is made for outdoor artificial grass installs and works with weather-tolerant turf glue. Follow the product directions for the most durable, water-tolerant seam.

Can I use seam tape for repairs?

Yes. Seam tape is great for re-seaming a lifted or damaged join, or patching a section, without redoing the whole lawn.

Is this the same as the "turf tape" athletes wear?

No. This is seaming fabric for joining artificial grass. The "turf tape" worn by football and other athletes is a skin-protection athletic tape — a completely different product.
